KUNDALINI YOGA
Kundalini is the potential life force (prana), which lies dormant at the base of the spine. It is conceptualised as a coiled up lock of hair - literally, 'Kundalini' in Sanskrit is 'coiled up'.

Kundalini comes from the root word Kundalini, in Sanskrit; this means "the lock of hair from the beloved". The uncoiling is the awakening of the kundalini. Every human has this unlimited potential in their being.

Kundalini yoga concentrates on the chakra's (energy centers) in the body so we can work from the core of our being i.e. kundalini energy.

Kundalini Yoga works simultaneously on the body, mind and spirit, and incorporates breath, posture, mantra and meditation. It is designed for the stresses and strains of modern living.

At first only 3 to 11 minutes are required on a regular basis to get the practice going. Once the benefits are noticed these times can be extended to suit individual needs.

There are over 8.4 million sets in Kundalini Yoga and they concentrate on balancing different aspects of the body, mind and spirit.

For example, the stress set will concentrate on working on the kidneys and the adrenals, which has an affect on the heart.
